I was so scared that he injured his eye and I quickly brought him into the bathroom to clean his blood away so that I can see where his injury was...and u know what, Amadeus was smiling at me as I was washing his blood away...*faint*...doesn't he felt any pain? I'm a bit relieved when I found that it was his right eyelid that was cut, but then the cut was very near to his eye so tat was really a very close shave!
Hb and I decided to bring him to KKH Children's Emergency to let a doc check on his cut. When we were there, Amadeus already forgotten abt his injury and was playing wif us and a kid beside him....initially we thought it shld be jus a minor injury but to our horror, the doc told us that the wound need to be stitched up as there was a gap.
Amadeus started to cry when I put him down on the bed for the nurse to administer sedation on him. After the jab, he kept crying non-stop and was also trying to fight the medicine. It was so heartpain to see him like tat. Hb and I couldn't accompany him inside the treatment room when he was being stitched up and it was really painful for us to see him struggling on the bed and the nurse had to wrap him up using the blanket so that the doc can quickly stitched him while he was still being sedated.
While waiting outside the treatment room, we could hear Amadeus screaming very pitifully and I cried. It was really a very heartbreaking moment for me to see him suffer like that. After the stitching, we immediately went in to see him and he was lying there on the bed looking very dazed and his whole face was red from crying. He really looked very pitiful. We followed him to the observatory ward as he needed to be monitored for 1 hr before he can be discharged.
For that 1 hr, he kept crying on and off and his tongue kept sticking out as if he wanna vomit (one of the side effects from the sedation). I thought he was in great discomfort as he kept struggling and attempt to get up from the bed. It was only much later that we realised that it was the wires on his body (to monitor heartbeat) and the wrap on his leg (to measure blood pressure) that was causing him to cry. He was very sensitive to such things on his body.
Luckily, the doc told us that Amadeus right eye was not affected in anyway and he was alright and can be discharged. It was only then that Amadeus finally fell asleeep and when we reached home, it was almost 2am in the morning.
Before the stitch...
After the stitch...
p/s: Amadeus was fine now and he was already up and running about when he woke up this morning :)
