Happy 16th Months, Baobei :)

Dearest Amadeus,

Daddy & mummy are so glad to have you in our lives as you have brought much joy and laughter to us. Though you are naughty and will made us mad sometimes, you always manage to appease us by your charming smile.

We just hope that you will always be healthy and cheerful and you will always be our lil baobei even though you gonna have a sibling soon :)

1st dose of flu vaccine...

We will be bringing Amadeus to HongKong this coming Dec so decided to let him take the flu vaccine.

Amadeus phobia of seeing doc is getting more serious. He started crying big time when he saw the doc only...the doc haven't did anything yet and she was talking to her nurse and Amadeus started crying non-stop. Hence, it became harder for him to take the jab. A nurse had to come in to grab hold of both his hands while I carried him so that the doc came administer the jab onto his thigh...

Poor boy! He still cried when we came out from the doc's room. He only calmed down when I gave him his pacifier. Then a few minutes later, he started to play wif me le...his mood really changed very fast.

But he will have another dose to take on 24th Nov...another drama coming up...

10 days after the accident...

....Amadeus' wound is healing pretty well...but he seems to have developed a phobia in seeing doctor...recently brought him to the clinic as he was having flu and he starting crying when the nurse put him on the weighing scale to take his height & weight...he cried again when the doc tried to listen to his heartbeat or go near him....omg! how, how, to help him overcome this problem? guess it will be hard man but hope he will soon get over his trauma...

Tingkat Lunch

Ever since I got pregnant, hb always worried abt me not eating my lunch so decided to cater for tingkat. Today is the 2nd day and so far, taste-wise still ok, as the caterer said their food is less salt and no msg, which is gd news for me but the food is cold by the time it reached my place but i'm ok wif it...but if Amadeus is sharing the food wif me, I will have to heat up le.

My Confinment Lady

I know at this time, I shld be studying for my exam which is 2 days away but as I'm waiting for my tingkat lunch, I decided to blog about my wonderful confinment lady (CL).

She was such a great helper to us when I was doing confinment the last time. She took care of everything in the house and I did not have to worry about anything. I jut need to eat and sleep. She took such great care of Amadeus that for tat 1st mth, I didn't help my baby to change any diaper or made any milk at all. All I did was carried him for a while and played with him. I only tried to learnt from her how to bathe and change diaper for Amadeus on the last week before she left. And on the day she left, I really don't know what to do and nearly cried...hahaha...

So this time round, for my 2nd pregnancy, before I even went to the gynae to confirm it, my hb already called her to book her...hahaha..talking about being kiasu...no choice, cos we really cannot do without her. We also missed her good food and really looking forward to see her next May :0

An accident that we dreaded finally happened...

Yesterday nite ard 9pm plus, Amadeus was getting down from my lap and going to walk away from me and in his haste, he missed his footing and hit his head on the sofa leg...initially, I thought it was just one of his usual knocks that he got from his clumsy behaviours...but this time, I was wrong....He started crying quite badly so I carried him and sayang him and then to my horror, I saw some blood on his right hand and then more blood streaming down his right eye.

I was so scared that he injured his eye and I quickly brought him into the bathroom to clean his blood away so that I can see where his injury was...and u know what, Amadeus was smiling at me as I was washing his blood away...*faint*...doesn't he felt any pain? I'm a bit relieved when I found that it was his right eyelid that was cut, but then the cut was very near to his eye so tat was really a very close shave!

Hb and I decided to bring him to KKH Children's Emergency to let a doc check on his cut. When we were there, Amadeus already forgotten abt his injury and was playing wif us and a kid beside him....initially we thought it shld be jus a minor injury but to our horror, the doc told us that the wound need to be stitched up as there was a gap.

Amadeus started to cry when I put him down on the bed for the nurse to administer sedation on him. After the jab, he kept crying non-stop and was also trying to fight the medicine. It was so heartpain to see him like tat. Hb and I couldn't accompany him inside the treatment room when he was being stitched up and it was really painful for us to see him struggling on the bed and the nurse had to wrap him up using the blanket so that the doc can quickly stitched him while he was still being sedated.

While waiting outside the treatment room, we could hear Amadeus screaming very pitifully and I cried. It was really a very heartbreaking moment for me to see him suffer like that. After the stitching, we immediately went in to see him and he was lying there on the bed looking very dazed and his whole face was red from crying. He really looked very pitiful. We followed him to the observatory ward as he needed to be monitored for 1 hr before he can be discharged.

For that 1 hr, he kept crying on and off and his tongue kept sticking out as if he wanna vomit (one of the side effects from the sedation). I thought he was in great discomfort as he kept struggling and attempt to get up from the bed. It was only much later that we realised that it was the wires on his body (to monitor heartbeat) and the wrap on his leg (to measure blood pressure) that was causing him to cry. He was very sensitive to such things on his body.

Luckily, the doc told us that Amadeus right eye was not affected in anyway and he was alright and can be discharged. It was only then that Amadeus finally fell asleeep and when we reached home, it was almost 2am in the morning.

Before the stitch...

After the stitch...

p/s: Amadeus was fine now and he was already up and running about when he woke up this morning :)

An Ox Joining our Family...

Yes, it is confirmed! I'm 7 weeks pregnant now :)

I really hoped that this baby ox will be a ger as I longed to have a princess for me to dress her up....hee hee...but whether this baby is a ger or boy, tis will definitely be the last one for me....no more 3rd or 4th one....so sorry, hb (he wanna have 3 kids).

Botanical Garden Outing wif Forum Friends on 5th Oct 2008

We had a gathering at Botanical Garden near the Swan Lake with a total of 7 families on 5th October. As usual, we were the last family to arrive...hee hee...Amadeus had fun exploring the place wif his daddy while I sat on the mat under the shade chatting and looking at the other toddlers playing.

But this coward son of mine did not dare walk on the grass on his own as it was uneven...he would squat or sat on the grass waiting for us to hold his hands or carry him...
It was a fun time at the Garden as both hb and I hadn't been there before...hahaha...yes, we were very 'sua gu' (mountain tortoise) and we agreed that it was a great place to bring Amadeus to...So next time instead of shopping, we can come here and have picnic and save moni...hee hee
