I brought Amadeus for his last dose of Prevnar vaccine today at Healthway Clinic at Punggol Plaza. Too bad, Dr Tan was on long leave and after the nurse assurance tat the relief doc also can give the jab, I decided to go ahead.
The relief doc was quite young and had a bit of attitude problem. He did not check Amadeus' development nor take his height & weight. I had to ask him to do it. Worse, he still need to read the instruction on how to give the jab...when I saw it, I began to get uneasy and questioned him whether he was really competent...and u guessed wat was his reply? He said tat if I don't trust him, I can just walked out. I was so angry & normally, I will just walked off lor...but don't know why I just let him carried on wif the injection. Darned! It was a terrible mistake man....
He SLOWLY inject Amadeus & so, he struggled like mad lor cos it was bloody painful and his whole face also turned red and he cried till very bad but it was those cries without sound one. I had to hold him down firmly while the doc jus looked at me to calm him down (the jab was still inside his thigh!) then he SLOWLY inject the med in and SLOWLY pull it out! My gosh! I nearly wanna bash him up for causing so much pain to my baobei. Amadeus only cried out loud when the needle left his thigh & I kept apologising to him saying it was my fault for causing him so much pain (I can chose to go off but I didn't). Under Dr Tan, Amadeus will not feel any pain one b'cos he did it in a very fast manner so tat Amadeus did not have the time to react.
So for those who likes going to Healthway b'cos of Dr Tan, I will advise you to stay away from the clinic for the good of your child, b'cos I heard from the nurse tat after the long leave, Dr Tan will most probably not be returning to the clinic. Don't ask me why cos I also do not know the reason.
By the way, Amadeus' stats as at 13th mth:
Height: 86cm (above 97 percentile)
Weight: 10kg (50 percentile)

Playtime @ Fidgets
Hb & I brought Amadeus to Fidgets at Turf City after we went to his ex-colleague's baby 1st mth celebration.
Amadeus really loved the place! I realised tat Amadeus only wanna walk on his own wif support, he don't like people to hold him and walk. Becos when we were at Fidgets, he will hold the barriers at the ball pit and keep walking sideways. He also had so much fun crawling ard and gliding down the slide wif hb...He is sure one noisy boy and he keeps making noise non-stop while crawling.
We will definitely bring him back again as hb prefers here to Gymboree as he finds that Gymboree is a boring place.
Play areas for the little ones:

His favorite action...*faint*

Trying to climb in & out of the ball pit...

Only interested in licking the wheel...& hb had to push him ard instead...

Amadeus' Milestones as at 13th Month
Time flies, Amadeus is now 13th mth old and no longer a baby. There have been moments of great joy, as well as frustrating ones, to both hb and I as we watch him grow.... Though he might be a bit slow in his motor skills but we still love him very very much. I believe he inherits the lazy genes from me as he is surely one lazy boy...hahaha...Unlike other toddlers his age, he will refuse to stand up and walk with our support (he knows how to walk with support) or use the walker to walk...So, I guess we just have to let him be and one fine day, when he is ready, he will walk, like how he suddenly wants to hold his own milk bottle :)
Amadeus' milestones:
1) He finally wants to hold his own milk bottle when he is abt 1 yr old.
2) He will take/spit out his pacifier the moment he sees his milk bottle, or when we said to him: drink milk milk or drink water (after drinking, he will promptly put back his pacifier. He is a pacifier addict...hee hee) or when he sees his lunch or dinner.
3) He will give me a smiley face when he knows that I'm angry wif him or when I give him a stern look. Somehow he knows tat I will forgive him if he does that.
4) He loves to hug us tightly and buried his face close to ours or on our chest. Sometimes he will pat us (might be beating us, who knows) too on our back when we carry him.
5) He is able to wave bye bye and say the word (He will only do it when he feels like it).
6) The limited vocab tat he knows: PaPa, MaMa, Mum Mum, Ah Ma, Auntie, Baby, Hi & Bye Bye.
7) He understands what is "No" and sometimes will obey us when we tell him "No" to doing certain things.
8) He is also able to understand some simple instructions, like "stand up" or "sit down".
9) He is able to climb onto his bed and the sofa but does not know the correct way of getting down.
Baobei, Happy 13th mth! Stay healthy & cheerful always :)

New Words - Auntie & Baby
My part-time cleaner comes every Tuesday to clean my house and whenever she is here, she will asked Amadeus to call her 'Auntie'. Of course Amadeus never responds back cos he don't know how to say mah...until yesterday, my cleaner slowly repeat the word to Amadeus and asked him to repeat after her by saying 'An..Ti.., An..Ti..'.....and guess wat? Amadeus really say the word 'Auntie' very clearly! But I was in the kitchen and my cleaner told me tat Amadeus was looking at her lips movement and pronounced the word. I couldn't believe it! Later, I tried and he really say the word for me again...hee hee..so happy...
Then this morning, he gave me another surprise...he was babbling something which sounded like 'baby'....so i say 'ba-by, ba-by' slowly so tat he could hear the pronunciation and truly, he repeated the word though not very clear...
Both hb and I felt that it might be due to the vcd 'Baby can read' that helped him to be able to pronoun the words so I hoped tat wif more constant watching of the vcd, his language skill can be further improved :)

Better late than never...
Yes, we had bought a walker for Amadeus...This sounds funny as I had always resisted letting Amadeus use a walker as it was said to be not good for babies and their leg development and also will hinder their ability to learn to walk...
But as Amadeus' frens all learnt to walk one by one, I started to question when will he walk on his own? Most of his frens who have walk used walkers at home...so even though Amadeus is already 1 yr old, I still go ahead and buy the walker for him, hoping that the walker will really helped him...by the way, he is one lazy boy also...we tried to support him by holding him but after walking a few steps, he don't want to carry on anymore...he prefer to crawl instead...
But Amadeus cannot sit in the walker for long as he still prefer to crawl on the floor...haiz...but I would ignore his cries to be carried out and now he can be in there for a longer period of time...*phew*...hopefully he will be able to walk b4 he meet his grp of frens for an outing...I don't wanna him to be the only toddler to be crawling lor and gets left out by his walking frens...
