Be thankful for wat we have...

Recently, I have been reading a blog abt a mom losing her 3yr old boy to a childhood cancer...and the boy was really beautiful wif blue eyes. N he passed away within 9mths upon knowing. Life is so unpredictable and reading her blog makes me tear. I can feel her grieve and her anguish. I felt heartache for her and for her boy's short life span on earth.

I can't imagine how I would have felt if it happened to me...I would not have know how to carry on wif my life...so lately, I tried not to beat them over trival things and indeed spend more time playing wif them and enjoying their presence.

And I'm really thankful for my 2 adorable and naughty boys. I can't imagine life without them. I won't trade Andre for a girl and I am certaintly happy to have him (tho he often drives me crazy).

I'm jus praying that they will forever be this healthy w/o major illness and be happy and loving towards each other. They are each other best friends now and I hope it will be this case forever.

Andre & his 1st 'MaMa'

I was very happy when Andre came to the toilet and looked at me and called me 'mama' yesterday! Prior to this, he called me 'Daddy' (cannot believed it rite? He called both hb and me - Daddy!!!).

But after that, he had since stopped calling me and when I asked him to call me, he whined and shaked his head :(

This naughty son of mine really had an attitude! He only called me when he felt liked it!

Andre is getting more & more creative. Don't know how he managed to tink of folding down one of the table stand so that it will look like a slide. And he will slide down the table very happily and do it again & again...

For Daddy who is away on biz trip....we are doing well at home :) Both boys liked the pancakes n the scrambled eggs from KFC :)

DAY 1: Weaning off pacifier

Yesterday I felt that it's a gd time to wean off pacifier for Andre as he is coming to 2 and also he had been very whiny as he kept waking up crying for his pacifier and caused me to feel very tired the next day as I kept having interrrupted sleep.

Not much fuss from him during his afternoon nap as I tink he was too tired liao...he whined a lil bit asking for his pacifier but I told him no more already. I had thrown the pacifier away and promptly patted him to sleep. He fell asleep quite fast as I tink he was too tired.

Nite time, he was more whiny and cried on and off. But I insisted and thankfully I didnt give in to him...took quite a while to pat him to sleep...and he was there opening n closing his mouth as if he was chewing on something. Funny sight! He slept quite well and woke up lesser than the last few nites...

So weaning him off isn't as bad as I thought :)

Amadeus' Progress Report for Term 1

We received his report before the start of the March Sch holidays. Below are the comments by his English & Chinese teachers...

Andre's 1st day at Childcare

Yes, it had been quite a long time since I last updated my blog. Blame it on my laziness and facebook. And for this new yr 2011, I hoped that I can blog more and share abt the developments of my 2 boys.

So for 2011, the first post will be Andre's 1st day at CC.

Initially, before he started CC, I was confident tat he will not cry for me as he had been very open to strangers, playing wif them & allowing them to carry him. So I requested for him to start CC in mid-Dec 2010 but was turned down as there would be a few new comers too. So the earliest he can start is Jan 2011.

But who knows, as he was turning 18mths, he started to cry for me or hubs when he realised we were out of his sight. So I began to worry as I need to help Amadeus adapt to his new school too in Jan. Thank goodness, hub had a new job and will only began work on 10th Jan. So he can helped me wif both boys.

To my surprise, Andre adapted pretty well on his 1st day. Not crying for me at all or needed me by his side. I just stood at a corner while he explored the place on his own. Ard 10.30am, I said good-bye to him and went off to have my breakfast. He didn't cried at all. When I walked back ard 11am, I peeped him from outside and saw his teacher feeding him his lunch.

After lunch is his bathing time. I stayed behind to watch how the teacher bathe and changed him before I went off.

I can see cobwebs forming in my blog...tried to update about my Port Dickson trip in August but the uploading of the photos was so cock-up tat I gave up. Almost wanted to close this blog as really had no motivation to carry on...so shall see how it goes...

Anyway, back to the topic, our family of 4 are flying off to Japan in another 8 hrs' time. This is the 1st flight for Andre and 2nd one for Amadeus. Hope they will slept thru'out the flight and I can enjoy some peaceful time.

We will be staying in 2 different hotels and 1 ryokan (Jap-style hotel) for this 8 days trip. This is the 1st time that I spent alot of time researching, planning and coming up with the itinerery. And finally finalises everything at the eleventh hour.

But alas the 2 lil boys and myself are down with cold at the moment. Hope it won't get worse and that we will still be able to enjoy this trip :)

Looking forward to our short weekend getaway...

I didn't wanna waste the long holiday for National Day so decided to book a resort stay without consulting hubby. I only told him after the room was confirmed...this way, he can't say no...hee hee...

The room tat we will be staying is rather special as it is above the sea....look at the picture below...will blog more after our trip.

Amadeus is 3 years old!!!

Times flies. It seems like only yesterday tat Amadeus was still a baby. Now, he is an active & bubbly lil boy. 

Initially wanna celebrated his b'day in school but his teacher told me tat it is not allowed as they already had a joint celebration so I decided to hold a mini party for him at home to make him happy. He had been looking forward to his b'day so tat he can eat his 'Barney' cake. But fickle him decided to change his cake last min when he saw sesame street characters cake at Pine Garden. 

I invited only immediate family members and 2 of my close friends to join in as it was on a Thursday. I was glad tat I held this party for him as he was really excited and happy upon seeing his cousins and friend. He had fun singing his b'day song, cutting his cake and eating his agar agar. Even when the party ended, he was still very high and kept singing b'day song to himself and dancing away. 

He was also very happy to receive his presents and liked all of them :) Really appreciate all my family members n frens for coming on a weekday nite and making it such a special day for my lil darling.

Joint B'day Celebration in School (Dated 18th June 2010)

Monthly, Carpe Diem will hold b'day celebration for all the kids tat are born in tat mth and will invite the parents to join in their celebration. We are free to make any contributions like cakes, goodies bags etc. Every class will perform an item and the celebration will last slightly more than 2 hrs. Imagine the class teachers having to tink of a performance to be put up 12 times a yr!

For June's celebration, I contributed a 'Big Bird' agar agar tat was chosen by Amadeus. As he was sick and had been absent from school for days, he clinged on to me like glue when I brought him to sch tat day. He refused to go up to the 'stage' and needed me to go up wif him to be wif the other b'day kids to sing b'day song and cut his cake. I needed to sit wif him thru'out the performaces and I cannot left his sight, ifnot, he would broke out in tears.

I stayed wif Amadeus till he finished his lunch and we left the sch since he doesn't want to stay there.

I managed to sneak to the side when Amadeus was not looking but he cried badly when he discovered I'm not behind him... 

I was pacifying Amadeus and trying to get him to blow his candle when suddenly, the boy besides him leaned over and blew it off on his behalf...
